It's a cool wooden tool that was designed to easily and quickly create any size box that you could ever dream of! It makes boxes tiny enough to hold a ring and big enough to hold a big birthday cake – all with one wooden tool! You can make:
- Basic Boxes (where the lid comes all the way down the side of the box) and you can make them in Squares, Cubes, or Rectangles.
- Matchboxes (in any size you want)
- Two-tone Boxes (where the lid comes partially down the side of the box so you can see both the box and the lid colors)
- Tall Boxes
- 2-4-6-8 Boxes (aka Milk Cartons)
- Baskets
- Postage Stamp Holder (holds a roll of postage stamps and the stamps come out the side of the box)
- Wrigley’s Orbit Gum© box (these are SO cool!)
- Door Hanger boxes
- Stair Stepping Boxes (aka Fantasy Boxes – 4 small boxes that fold inside a tall box)
- Hinged Lid Boxes
- Tissue Box Covers
I will do my best to explain it and how it works and I have attached a picture of it so it’s easier to understand.
There are 1/2" groves cut into the wood and there is a raised edge on the side... one for the BOX (or the bottom of your box) and one for the LID. Cut your cardstock exactly the same size and lay one piece against the side marked LID. You will run your bone folder or stylus tool in the grove (1/2", 1", 1 1/2" etc. You decide how deep you want your box to be). You then rotate your cardstock and score along this same grove on all 4 sides.
Next you take the other piece of cardstock and lay it against the edge marked BOX. Do the same thing. The side marked BOX is designed to be 1/32 of an inch bigger so that it will fit perfectly inside the lid.
Clear as mud, right? Don't worry, there are written instructions explaining all this in detail. There are even diagrams to help you know how to put the box together. Most of us paper crafters are “visual” people and need lots of pictures so I made sure to have lots of diagrams to make the box making process super easy.
And guess what??? You can even make custom boxes! Just measure the length, width, and depth of the item you want to package. Follow the instructions and it will tell you what size to cut your cardstock. Do the scoring as I mentioned earlier, and you will have a custom box. The possibilities are endless!
I have attached some pictures of different boxes I have made and we hope to have a website very soon where people can post the pictures of the boxes they have created.
